  1. Child & Adolescent Therapy
This type of counseling refers to a variety of techniques and methods used to help children and adolescents who are experiencing difficulties with their emotions or behaviors. Playing, drawing, building, and pretending, as well as talking, are important ways of sharing feelings and resolving problems for children within therapy. The teen years can be difficult for both the teen and the parents. Having a safe place to vent feelings is important for a teen who is enduring life's changes and one's varying emotions. Also, there is counseling for parents and family.
  2. Family Therapy
Family therapy is rooted in the belief that what is happening to one member of the family system will have an impact on others in the family unit. Family therapy provides an opportunity for a couple or all family members to come together and work through problems that are interfering with happiness in the home. Families therapy is offered to help strengthen relationships and promote understanding within the family unit.
  3. Seminars
Anita Henrichson, LPC presents seminars to women's groups, church programs, educational institutions, and civic organizations on numerous topics. Parental alienation, depression, parenting, anger management, coping skills, and relationships are examples of such topics. Call 469-769-1121 today to schedule a presentation.
  4. Parenting
Parents are not born with the innate ability to parent children. The professionals at our clinic can help educate and instruct parents how to guide and parent their children in a healthy manner. Parent and child reunification therapy is also available at Counseling for Healthy Minds. Reunification therapy is a process of reunifying an alienated parent with their child.
  5. Adult Therapy
Adult therapy helps individuals explore and improve their emotional, behavioral, and relationship functioning. By improving the ways in which you handle your feelings and interact with others, your professional and personal life also will improve. In therapy, our mental health professionals will work with you to understand your challenges and establish a positive therapeutic relationship that will help you achieve your goals as soon as possible.
  6. Couples Therapy
All close relationships are a work in progress. In healthy relationships, individuals are often able to make relationship improvements in relatively smooth ways. In other relationships, however, making positive changes can be extremely difficult. Couples therapy with a trained professional can often be what’s needed to negotiate changes within an intimate relationship. Whether you want to enhance your relationship, resolve specific issues, improve trust and communication, or prevent divorce, our couples therapists can provide your partner and you with support, understanding, and strength to improve your relationship.
  7. Christian Counseling Services
Christian counselors create a healthy counseling environment which brings clarity and guidance. The goal of Christian counseling is to help guide the client with the use of the Bible, prayer, and counseling techniques. Specific areas addressed are: -exploring personal problems, purpose, significance and belonging -establishing meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ and with others -developing biblical self-worth, thinking, choices and behaviors while experiencing a Christian counselor.
  8. Group Counseling
Group therapy involves one or more counselors who lead a group of roughly five to 15 patients. Typically, groups meet for an hour or two each week. Some people attend individual therapy in addition to groups, while others participate in groups only. Many groups are designed to target a specific problem, such as depression, obesity, panic disorder, social anxiety, chronic pain or substance abuse.
  9. Mental Health Evaluations
Emotions play an important role in successful human development. Individuals who cope well with their emotions and have good social skills generally feel connected to school, are confident, make friends, are less likely to get in trouble, and demonstrate a positive attitude toward social settings and learning. Specifically for children, it is important for parents to closely monitor their child’s emotional well-being and to seek evaluation if any problems are suspected.
  10. Home Study / Court Evaluations
A "home study" (also called a "home inspection") may be requested by either party in a divorce and custody action or it may be ordered by a judge. A home study is an evaluation of a child's place of residence. The mental health professionals will provide more information on requirements and fees upon request.
